Div 4 Match [email protected] ACC Middelheim, Versus PCC…
Ashish Jadhav routs PCC!
A magnificent knock of 141 from Ashish, guaranteed a crushing victory for 12 stars over the PCC team. A second century of his cricketing career will surely make him re-consider his decision in playing the Div I matches again.
It was raining boundaries at Antwerp on a hot Sunday. 12stars opted to bat after winning the toss. Ashish first runs came with a six over square leg of the very 2nd ball of the game. Ashish throughout the innings made good use of the fast outfield conditions by scoring lots of boundaries all around the ground. His shot selection was explicit, He put away almost all bad deliveries to the fence at the same time respecting the good balls by leaving them alone. He rotated the strike very well, put the pressure on the opponents by stealing quick singles whenever the opportunity presented itself. Good support from Anshul Gupta on the other end with a patient 35, allowed Ashish to concentrate on his long innings.
Although very hard to resist to go for the strokes, especially when boundaries were coming thick and fast from the other side, Anshul showed his mettle in his defences and ‘good leave’s. Some well timed shots through the covers and point area rewarded him some nice boundaries.
With just few overs remaining, the late middle order threw their bat around to get some useful runs. Ramee, Nikhil and Gannu added quick 40 odd runs to the team’s total, which allowed 12stars to amass a huge total of 292 runs in allowed 40 overs.
A totally demotivated PCC team started off very cautiously which did not have any effect at all. Wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals. At one stage it looked like they would be bundled out well within 150 runs mark. Vishal and Ramee started well with their fiery spell. Ramee drew first blood when one of the openers dragged one on to his stumps. Two dropped catches of Ramee’s bowling luckily did not prove too costly. Ganga started off in style by taking two wickets in his first two deliveries of his spell, thanks to two good catches by Prem and Ramee. Nikhil, Ashish, Anshul and Glen bowled some decent tight spells. With no pressure whatsoever Captain Hot Gannu, decided to test his reserve bowlers and they too proved very valuable. PCC were finally all out for 220 runs which gave the 12stars’s their 3rd victory in the BCF Div-4 League.
