Midweek, BPC, 17/May/2016, Comprehensive victory for 12Stars!

A crushing win against RBCC in their home turf:  12 Stars Midweek team has sent a very strong message across that they are one formidable side to beat.

Perennial issue of not finding players for the midweek  was  once again the reason to field just 9. With just two (12stars) players in the ground, obvious choice after winning the toss was to bat. Openers (the only players) Anshul and Prem  were geared up to start the proceedings but had to wait little longer for the others to arrive. Delayed start, meant reduced overs! 18 overs per side was mutually agreed upon. RBCC’s lush green, fast outfield conditions was begging the batsmen to go for their ground strokes and 12 stars batsmen made the most of it.  Prem , Rahul and Vishal scored unbeaten 25+ runs, which put the opposition on the back foot right away. Rahul continued where he left off in the previous match, free flowing boundaries coming of his bat was a treat to watch. Pick of the batsman was Vishal (Only batsman to score in the V today ),  showed lot of substance, determination and finally some maturity!  An imposing total of 140 runs in 18 overs  was set as the target for the home team.

The opening bowling pair, Iyappan and Glen resembled  the “Connected Rooks in a Chess game ” These two demolished the defences of more than half the side and all within 6 overs. Iyappan’s out swingers and Glen’s spot on bowling wreaked havoc for the Royals.  Another highlight of the 2nd innings was that,  except for a half-chance, not a single catch was dropped,  a sign of a highly motivated team indeed. Anshul’s spectacular catch in the 2nd slip, sent shock waves in the RBCC dressing room.  Ishaq and Ravi were the only other bowlers used and  Ishaq drove the final nail in the coffin by clinching the last wicket.  RBCC were all out for a mere 43 runs. 12stars are now comfortably placed on top of the table with two wins so far.
