12 Stars won by 14 runs
A cold & windy day, 12 Stars won the toss in all 3 occasions where opposition captain Benjamin is not confident in 50 cent coin tossed by Ramesh. He blamed the coin and refused to accept the toss twice without any sporting spirit. Stupidity!!! Finally umpires arrived at 12:30 and called captains for toss, Benjamin brought his lucky 2 euro coin and yet he lost the toss!! 12 Stars opted to bat first.
Ajay and Swaroop opened the batting and started steadily. Swaroop was caught in the slip when he tried to play the ball over the point. Prem joined in at number 3 and played couple of great cover boundaries. Ajay fell in after few overs with score of 21 with one of six on free hit. Of course his trademark pull shot!! Ashish “The Slicer” joined and tried to steady the batting but fell after scoring 12 runs. Peter joined in the middle to stablish the innings but got out after scoring 16. 12 Stars were 87 after 20 overs. S Raina and Ramesh joined in the middle. The pair batted with good sense, dispatching the bad balls and picking up singles and slowly began to build the score. They had put on 40 odd runs partnership. Raina took the innings till 39th over along with Anshul and got out when he was at 44 runs. Anshul played a very important innings and took the 12 Stars to reach 216. He made 29 of 33 balls with couple of boundaries. It was good over all batting performance from 12 stars where they played till 44th over.
Lunch break!! Thanks to Ravi for tasty channa masala…
It was very cold after noon, 12 stars stared with “Extra”ordinary bowling attack!! ACC opened the batting with Simon and Ali Raja. The pair started slowly..very slowly. Simon survived from the first over till 16overs after 4 catches were dropped. First spell of Ramesh and Vishal finished without any wickets. Vishal was trying to break JD’s wides record in an over. Anshul was brought into attack after 16th over, and in his 2nd ball Simon went for a long on six. S Raina did not make any mistake and took the catch at long on boundary. Finally the opening partnership was broken and ACC were 58 for 1. Wahidullah joined in at number 3. Short after, Ali Raja was given LBW from Nikhil’s superb delivery. Niaz joined in number 4 along with Wahidulla. Pair started playing sensible cricket and Wahid made quick 32 and gave catch to Ganga in midwicket boundary. Ganga joined in the attack with Anshul and never allowed opposition to settle down. Ganga had great spell with the figure of 9-0-26-3. This left Niaz to stand alone to chase the total of 216. The game went into final overs where ACC has to score 24 runs from 3 overs with 2 wickets left. Ramesh and Anshul pulled back with tight bowling. Yet again Anshul did his trick in 44th over to wrap the game with ACC scoring 202. Anshul took 4 wickets in 9 overs for 44 runs. The highest score for ACC is scored by Extras 58*.
Great team effort!!
