CricHQ Scorecard

13th August we left the long weekend, dedicated to cricket, trying to get one step closer to the DIV 1 trophy.

Perfect day for cricket, and 12 stars lost the toss, and Antwerp elected to bat.
Calm proceedings by the openers of 12 stars cc (bowlers) and ACC batsmen, led to no wickets until 6th Over when in the 7th over Ani struck and opened the gates. Rohan took his lbw in his 4th Over. ACC lost both their openers within the first 10 overs.  The bowling change was carried out by the captain and the baton was handed over to the spinners,  Anshul and the spin veteran Manoj came into play and scalped the ACC batting one by one. Some amazing catching by Ayyapan and others led to an early lunch with ACC 149 all out.

Now the game was all about bonus points. In form Swaroop and making a comeback Sandeep Rana started against a new , fresh and fast ACC attack. These bowlers guys will soon become the next big things in Belgian cricket with the right guidance and support. Swaroop immediately took on the bowlers and the first 50 tuns came in just around 6 overs. It was smooth ride then on, we lost Swaroop after a good 36 and then Sandeep followed. Bhushan and Ashish steadied the ship. Bhushan in his prime form started to connect the ball really well, until a point where he missed a slower ball and played on. We lost quick wickets at the end thanks to some appreciation by Ashish bestowed upon the bowler, leading to his run out, but team spirit saved him. But this led to his concentration lapse and then he was out immediately. This made us lose 1 precious point. In the end Ani, wrapped up in style with some big blows.

Overall 12 stars won it comprehensively.
