Match Report – 12 Stars Vs Ostend – T20

Author: Rohan

A month has passed since we started the 2016-17 season, but the games until now where like drinks and cocktails.
After all the hard work in training sessions and Practice games, 12 stars had made the appetite for  STARTERS.
The starter was seafood from the COAST.

Final T20 round robin game, A game with very little importance as far as the result was concerned, but 12 stars wanted to beat their Toughest competition this year and draw first blood. Put it in simple words we did enjoy the starter, we licked the plate until the last part of the shrimp 😉 ;).

Ani won the toss and guess what he decided to bowl on a hot day (26 deg). Rohan started the proceedings, Catch of the third ball could have given him a wicket but the conspiracy theory continued, no one wants him to take wickets :(. 8 runs in his first over with 4 byes as four made ani to make a quick change to get ‘LALA’ aka nauman in with the new ball in the third over. WHAT A MOVE. He struck twice in 2 overs and with ani taking 1. So now Oostende were 18 for 3 after 5 overs. Now was the time to PUSH THE TEMPO as ajay says.  Anshul came in and did what he always wants to do……take WICKETS :). He struck twice in the first over and took 2 HUGE wickets literally, including abdul rehman for a duck. Maturing as a bowler with every single game, but this game he wanted to prove a point and got his first 5 wicket haul for the club amazing bowling performance.  Spinners are doing the magic this year. TOUCHWOOD …

THE M.A.N trio is deceptive, sharp and accurate in that order.

12 stars with a decent fielding performance backed up the bowling and got Oostende all out for 89.

15 mins break and back into the game.
Rahul and sandy opened the innings.
Abdul rehman struck in the very first over getting our in form batsman rahul for a duck.
Ramesh joined in sandeep but was back in the pavilion in no time.
Ani joined sandeep to steady the ship and so they did with a  30+ partnership before sandeep was run out.

Bhushan joined ani but was run out yet again 🙁 very unfortunate. Bhushan still waiting for his big innings, which im sure is just around the corner (HOLD ON BOY!!).
Rohan joined in Ani and they added another 10 before Ani trying to accelerate the run rate was caught at long on.
Ayyapan joined rohan and this was the defining partnership they took the score from 47 to 79 including a big Six by BAAHUBALI, Ayyapan looking to finish the game with boundaries was bowled. Rohan still hung on, playing not his natural game trying to finish it .
Anshul joined him and it was his day. Confidently anshul drove thrice to get 3 doubles on a heavy outfield.

With last over 4 runs needed it was done with 5 balls remaining wait it wasn’t a boundary, a double and a wide + bye !!!

End to a great day of cricket.
MOM: Anshul for his match winning performance.
A good team effort.

Points to be taken were that improve fielding a bit more, it is much better but we need the extra 5 % more to wrap all games much earlier , also running between wickets.
Overall many positives taken.
